Barn Fire
Thursday, July 19, 2018
Cheswold was alerted for a barn fire around 5:30 am on Monday. Also alerted were Hartly (engine), Dover (ladder), and Leipsic (tanker to replace Hartly's which is out of service). Chief Dempsey arrived to find a barn fully involved and with an exposure to the house. Engine 43-2 arrived and laid a supply line up the lane and began to attack the fire. As other units arrived, they provided water and manpower. Smyrna was requested for their tanker as well. Several animals managed to escape the flames, unfortunately some of the goats perished.
Units responding: 43-2, Rescue 43, 43-3, 43-4, 51-3, 51-2, 53-4, Tanker 53, Tanker 44, and 44-3.
Chief Dempsey had command.
