Cheswold, Leipsic, and Dover were alerted for a house fire on New Street just after 2 am on April 1.  Deputy Chief Dempsey arrived to find a 2 story vacant home with fire showing.  Engine 43-2 arrived a minute later as the fire spread throughout the structure.  A second alarm was requsted at this time.  The fire would eventually go to 3 alarms and damage 4 surrounding homes as well as 3 pieces of fire apparatus.  High winds and a lack of water in town contributed to the spread of the fire.

Units on scene:  43-2, 43-4, Ladder 46-2, 46-4, 53-6, 53-4, 44-3, L-44, 51-6, 51-10, 54-2, 54-5, 41-6, 51-2, 45-4, Quint 45, A-43, and Kent County ALS.  FM 19 is investigating the fire.
