Dog Rescued at House Fire - 6996 Pearsons Corner RoadThursday, July 2, 2015
Cheswold was dispatched to a reported house fire at 1223 hours. Engine 43-2 arrived under the command of Chief Roy and found heavy fire showing. Firefighters from Cheswold and Hartly entered the home and rescued a dog and turned it over to EMS crews who used a special pet oxygen mask to revive the animal. The dog was taken to Brenford Animal Hospital and is expected to fully recover. Two lizards and a fish were also rescued, however two other dogs perished in the blaze. Dover and Clayton were called to the scene to assist with extinguishment.
Units on scene: Engines 43-2, 43-3, 46-4 (Dover), Rescues 43-6, 45-6 (Clayton), Tanker 51 and Telesquirt 51 (Hartly), and ambulances from Cheswold and Hartly.
