Cheswold attended the annual Delaware Volunteer Firefighter's Association parade in Dover. Our volunteers had spent many hours at the firehouse during the previous weeks cleaning the trucks and preparing for the big dinner we serve each year two nights before the parade. Two of our vehicles, 43-0 and A-43 were judged prior to the parade to compete for trophies. These had to be spotless inside and out to have any chance of winning. Our firefighters and Ladies Aux. marched down State Street along with nearly every piece of apparatus we owned. When the trophies were given out, we won four of them. Ambulance A-43 won 2nd best appearing Brush 43-0 won 3rd best appearing (our first trophy ever for a fire engine at the state conference) Our marching unit won 4th best appearing without music Our Ladies won 7th best appearing (1 place better than last year) Thanks once again to our stand by crew from the Neptune Fire Company of Richland, PA. They keep Cheswold safe each year by not having any calls while they are in town.
