Just after midnight, Cheswold was alerted to cover Dover fire station 2 while they were fighting a house fire on Kenton Road. Engine 43-3 responded a few minutes later and was advised to take McKee Road because Kenton Road would be blocked by fire apparatus just South of West Denney's Road. Shortly after arriving at the station, 43-3 was requested to the scene. Cheswold's crew assisted with extinguishment of some small fires in the basement and attic areas of the house because Dover had the bulk of the fire knocked down already.
