Cheswold was alerted around 3:30 am for a house fire in the Parkers Run development off of Main Street.  The Kent County 911 Center quickly upgraded the call by adding a ladder company from Smyrna, a rescue company from Leipsic, an ambulance from Smyrna American Legion, and Kent County Paramedics.  Chief Josh Dempsey arrived to report a car in the driveway fully involved in fire and spreading quickly to the home.  Engine 43-2 arrived shortly thereafter and laid a 5" supply line from the hydrant down the street and placed to attack hose lines in service.  A search of the home was completed and found no occupants or interior fire extension.

The attached garage suffered some exterior fire damage and the entire home suffered light smoke damage.  The occupants safely escaped prior to the arrival of the fire company.
