Reported Garage FireThursday, July 2, 2015
Cheswold was alerted to a garage fire early in the evening on Friday. As the first engine was responding, fire policeman Bert Melvin arrived to report a garage with smoke showing. The Kent County 911 immediately upgraded the call by adding Dover and Hartly fire companies to the response as well as realerting Cheswold. Upon the arrival of engine 43-2, it was apparent that the fire had been extinguished by the homeowner. The fire caused moderate damage to a tractor stored inside the garage, but there was no damage to the garage itself.
